Yoga isn't just the postures. For centuries practitioners of all modalities utilize sound and vibration to bring health and healing to the mind, body, and spirit. It takes us beyond the body into the depths of who we are and what we're capable of. Kirtan is a form of chanting often incorporating instruments to create a fun and lively atmosphere. In addition, Robin will be sharing the myths and stories behind the chants we practice.
Robin has been practicing chanting for many years and can speak directly to the effectiveness of this practice. In a similar way the postures open the body chanting opens the heart while bringing focus and clarity to the mind.
For one Sunday a month, for the next 6 months, come experience the profound benefits of chanting. We will begin with a short meditation and some light pranayama before diving into the practice of Kirtan. Come as you are. No experience in chanting or Yoga necessary. No yoga mat needed. Wear comfortable clothes as we will be sitting. Bring your injuries, doubt, skepticism, excitement, joy, curiosity, whatever you got, bring it.
